Teacher Observation Day 12 1. 85% of my students did not know Aaliyah was dead. I had to relive that tragedy all over again. Then the debate of whether I'm young or old if I was in 6th grade when she died. Then the 10 minute torture of students trying to figure out my age when I gave them a hint and had a calculator in front of them. 2. I hate students acting confused...especially when I JUST IN TRODUCED THE LESSON!!!! I KNOW YOU DON'T UNDERSTAND SO STOP FROWNING YOUR FACE AND DOING THAT DUMB "HUH?" "WHAT?" SHIT!!! 3. Parents if you know your child is slow...inform me of that. Early. Don't let me discover your child is slow and then you try to come for me when I put in grades and it reflects what you knew all along. 4. Data is still pointless

Teacher Observations Day 10 1. Teachers..students too...no drugs at work. Real big no no. 2. Teaching though the pain of a double ear infection is an incredible feat.

Teacher Observation Day 9 1. Talking is the worst behavior problem. Your kids inability to stfu really disrupts a classroom. Calling to hear about how you beat your child still does not change the fact that 8 hours later they will still talk in class. 2. If you are an educational professional and your child is bad...own up to it. Providing literature on restorative discipline and whatever other nonsense you have only shows me that you should be homeschooling your bad ass child. 3. Let's bring typing back into schools! It's unfortunate that technology has also skipped foundational skills. 4. Test days are the best days. Edit

Teacher Observation Day 8 1. The camaraderie amongst teachers against an authority figure really makes me feel alive. 2. I literally studied how to manipulate data in college for advertising. School data can be manipulated just as easily, so why bother? 3. Open note/book tests are the way to go. We literally have information at our fingertips. In my opinion, it is more important to know how to  access and apply information then simply just recalling information. 4. Parents love that I document everything. They think I'm helping their child but I do it so they will leave me alone. 5. The "call me anytime, I'm down the street" parents are always a riot. But...1)why is your kid not afraid of you? 2) how come you are the parent of the kid I DON'T need to see? 6. The day after open house should be a late start, early dismissal or holiday. I'm exhausted. 7. My wife can literally make a song with any instrumental on any giving 3rd grade TEK. 8.  45 minutes a day is...

Teacher Observations Day 7 1. Parents....you aren't reading to your kids, doing flash cards or teaching them anything else at home. The least you could do is give them some attention or do you expect me to do that too? 2. Kids that throw trash on the floor everywhere they go, I'm convinced live in roach-infested dwellings.  3. Can we please teach our young ladies to NOT wear khaki or light colored pants during that time of the month.

Teacher Observation Day 6: 1. It baffles me that Beyonce as a member of Destiny's Child is lost but students know Aaliyah's entire discography. 2. I can model, verbally explain and give written directions...and that kid will still cut exactly what I told him not to. This is who is trusted to label me as an effective teacher on a test. Nope. 3. Kids are resilient. Everybody really acted like we  were on holiday. 4. Do NOT try to heat eggs in the microwave... # eggplosion . 5. No STAAR for the 17-18 school year. (speaking into existence) 6. Again....if I did not tell you I am married, got married, bought a house, yacht or a small island, do NOT ask me about that. You are my coworker we are not friends. This only opens the door for me to hear about you not having a man....and I really don't care but I can see why. 7. Parent pop ups are a blessing and curse...yes be an active parent but your child is that bad that we have to randomly check in. Should I be worried? Edi...

Teacher Observations Day 5: ( Literally had no idea when I would write these again this year) 1. No kiddos yet but "normalcy" is the new buzzword this year. 2. My Principal said...don't rush, don't worry, don't stress...and leave at 3:10 with the kids because  # traffic . I wasn't and I was...glad we are on the same page 3. CANCEL THE STAAR TEST T.E.A. Edit
