Teacher Observations Day 3

1. Kids that have not been properly trained will wind up doing a complete 360 when you ask them to walk on the right.

2. A bit personal....the change from Ms. to Mrs. at work has been pretty smooth. Random congratulations from coworkers that I never announced my nuptials to is a bit awkward but ok cool. Now students...they know me more than I know them because they saw me last year. However I know they were not paying attention to whether or not I was a Mrs. or not. So a student asked are you married? I answer yes then she requests to see my wedding pictures. *pause* flag on the play. I say absolutely not then the discussion ensues with loud whisper talk about my sexuality. Now most kids don't care and this conversation typically occurs later on in the school year. I have been fortunate that the loudest voice has always declared that it doesn't matter which quells any negativity. However having to "come out" every school year is...blah. A slight annoyance but I always wind up as the favorite teacher by the end of the year, so does it really matter at the end of the day?
