1. There was a fight yesterday...right by my door...did I break it up? Nope! I'm not breaking no fights lifetime mantra is still in full effect!
1a. Fight*....there were geeks holding each other by the throats because one boy pushed the other boys brother...
1b. I called for help...I didn't know my teacher friend intervened otherwise I would have pulled her out of it lol
1c. Captain Oblivious came at the end...surprise.
2. I called a parent to notify her that her daughter may be going to summer school. She was like "oh no!"...ma'am your child failed the first semester and has not done a lick of work this semester AND failed both STAAR tests. I know my call wasn't surprising.
3. There is an 8th grade dance on Saturday. The 8th graders have labeled it "prom." Idk...why but it's a thing.
3a. Girls have bought dresses including getting fitted, taken days off to get nails and hair done.
3b. Girls have done "promposals" to people they were already going with...why?I'm not sure. The promposals were yesterday and today...but the dance is tomorrow. You should secure the bag way before this time.
3c. I need to tell them not to ask these raggedy boys nothing every. Not promoting gender roles but these boys are literally raggedy. They told me they were going to get all of their dance stuff on Saturday at 4...the dance starts at 6.
3d. Girls were hating about people getting promposals. You're mad because nobody asked you BUT if we got that self-esteem built up then that anger wouldn't be there...
3e. Girl from #2 is bringing a limo...to this dance. In the cafeteria. She is charging people $60 to ride with her.
3f. I could make a post about kids not having a pencil but having money for all of this shenanigans but these kids mostly have their stuff. I will say I wish their parents had this much energy for some tutorials or something.
3g. My kids were disappointed that I would not be attending the dance. I had every intention of going until the date was revealed to be on my wife's birthday. I love having fun with my kids BUT I have a life outside of school and I need to put as much effort into those things as I do my work.
4. IF YOU KNOW SOMEBODY THAT WANTS TO DO SOMETHING ON THE MIDDLE SCHOOL LEVEL...HOLLA AT ME!
