1. It was my birthday yesterday. I was at work...My mom asked were the kids good...HELL NO...they don't give a...what day it is. They will ruin it anyways.

2. The best way to secure a testing environment is to make all non-essential employees and students not testing stay at home that day.

3. Isaiah's are bad as hell...First or middle name. Doesn't matter. They are terrorists.

3a. Isaiah means God is my savior/salvation....which is exactly WHO they will need once they get on my last nerve.

4. I taught an eighth grader, 14 years old, the difference between a circle and sphere.

4a. He came from private school. Private school means and does different things for different people. For minorities it does weed out the behavior problems but the education is just not what it is. I have encountered several students that were missing gaps of information and it seemed to be from lack on instruction rather than them just being low. Don't let those people take your money!

5. I spent 15 minutes explaining quarter of an hour....a quarter simply means a fourth. That kid had me on a runaway train to confusion.
Him:"A quarter is worth 25 cents so 25 minutes is a quarter of an hour."
Me:"The first part is true but the whole of a dollar is 100 cents...the total of an hour is...
Him:"60"
Ok let's go, we're making progress...he has some math knowledge so I figured I could make some things shake.
Me:" What is half an hour?"
Him:"30 minutes"
Me:"So 1/2 is 30 minutes. As a fraction what is half of a half?"
Him:"1/4"
Ok, I can see the promiseland
Me:"What is 1/2 of 30 minutes?"
Him:"15!"
Me:"Boom there it is! So what is the correct answer choice?'
Options A) 15 B)30 C)25 D)45
Him:"C!"
Me:"The answer is A, dude."
Him:"Mrs., you can't just give me the answer!"
First this assignment was due last week. Second we spent 14 minutes and 50 seconds talking, drawing fraction bars, fractions, proportions and we were still at 25. For my sake I had to put myself out of my misery. The class thanked me as they were just as tired.
